The Groeneveld-BEKA story

1927
Start BAIER + KÖPPEL by Georg Köppel and Georg Baier
The story begins in 1927, when BAIER + KÖPPEL starts producing oil pumps for motorbikes and aeroplanes in Nuremberg.
1962
BEKA moves to Pegnitz
After the Second World War, BEKA relocated to Pegnitz. Over the years, BEKA has specialised in centralised lubrication systems of the highest quality. The name BEKA is synonymous with innovative and customised lubrication systems of the highest quality. With state-of-the-art technology and a global presence, BAIER + KÖPPEL was ready for the future.
1971
Start of Technisches Handelsbureau Groeneveld
In 1971, Aart Groeneveld founds the 'Technisch Handelsbureau Groeneveld' and enters the market with an American lubrication system and systems that meet the increasing demand for efficiency in the transport sector.
1980
Production of the first Groeneveld systems
Groeneveld decides to manufacture the automatic lubrication systems itself, and in 1980 the first Groeneveld automatic lubrication system becomes a reality. In the years that followed, Groeneveld grew into an international company with its own subsidiaries around the globe.
2000
Launch of Interlube as an independent lubrication system provider
In 2000, a new chapter in the history of lubrication was opened in the United Kingdom. Through a management buyout of Tecalemit, a team with a wealth of experience became independent and founded Interlube. This marked the beginning of a new era in which Interlube's commitment to innovative and reliable lubrication systems would take centre stage.
2013
Takeover of Interlube by Timken
In 2013, Timken acquired Interlube Systems Ltd, a leading manufacturer of lubrication systems, expanding its reach in key industrial markets. This strategic move added valuable expertise, customer relationships and new distribution channels, while strengthening both Interlube's market presence and Timken's product portfolio.
2017
Takeover of Groeneveld by Timken
In 2017, Groeneveld was acquired by Timken, expanding Timken's presence in the automatic lubrication sector, which the company had entered with Interlube in 2013. Following the acquisition of Groeneveld, Interlube merged with the Groeneveld organisation and the Interlube products have been part of Groeneveld ever since.
2019
Takeover of BEKA by Timken
The story continues with the acquisition of BEKA by Timken in 2019, which made Timken the world's second largest manufacturer of industrial lubrication systems. Groeneveld and BEKA merged into one company and continue to operate under the name Groeneveld-BEKA.
